The authorities on Sunday prohibited the sale of non-essential objects by means of e-commerce platforms through the ongoing lockdown, 4 days after permitting such corporations to promote cellphones, televisions, laptops, fridges, and ready-made clothes.
Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla issued an order excluding the non-essential objects from sale by the e-commerce corporations from the consolidated revised tips, which listed the exemption given to the providers and other people from the purview of the lockdown.
The order mentioned the next clause — “E-commerce companies. Vehicles used by e-commerce operators will be allowed to ply with necessary permissions” — is excluded from the rules.
The earlier order by the Ministry of Home Affairs had mentioned such objects had been allowed on the market by means of e-commerce platforms from April 20. However, the explanation for reversing the order isn’t instantly identified.
According to Wednesday’s tips, business and personal institutions had been allowed to function through the prolonged lockdown.
“Vehicles used by e-commerce operators will be allowed to ply with necessary permissions,” the ministry had mentioned.
The earlier notifications of the house ministry had particularly mentioned that e-commerce platforms are allowed to promote solely important items like meals, prescription drugs and medical units.
The tips launched on Wednesday didn’t classify important and non-essential objects. The transfer was seen as an try by the federal government to revive the commercial and business actions which have been stalled because of the lockdown since March 25.
