The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has invited solutions and feedback from all stakeholders together with most of the people on the proposed modification within the Motor Vehicle Rules for enabling color blind individuals procure a driving license, MoRTH mentioned in a press release.
“It was brought to the notice of the ministry that the colour blind citizens were not being able to get the driving license made although they are able to perform all functions properly except identifying colours. The matter was sympathetically examined consulting the medical experts,” the assertion mentioned.
“It had been reported that the residents with a sure diploma of color blindness will be supplied with a driving license and that is being executed in lots of international locations of the world. Being delicate to the problems raised and contemplating the demand of such residents, the ministry has issued a draft notification for an modification to Form 1 and 1A of Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989 for soliciting feedback and solutions from all stakeholders,” it added.
The suggestions or comments can be sent to the Joint Secretary (Transport), Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Transport Bhavan, Parliament Street, New Delhi by April 15, it added.
