The nation’s largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp on Wednesday reported a 42.four p.c decline in complete gross sales at 3,34,647 models in March. The firm had bought 5,81,279 models within the corresponding month of the earlier yr, Hero MotoCorp mentioned in an announcement.
Total motorbike gross sales stood at 3,05,883 models final month as in opposition to 5,35,943 models in March 2019, down 42.9 p.c. Total scooter gross sales declined 36.55 p.c to 28,764 models as in contrast with 45,336 models within the year-ago month, it added.
In the home market, gross sales stood at 3,16,685 models final month as in contrast with 5,53,302 models in the identical interval a yr in the past, down 42.7 p.c.
“In March 2020, the auto industry and the entire global economy has been faced with unprecedented disruption, owing to the novel coronavirus. The COVID-19 has resulted in interrupted supply chains, halted production and lock-down, leading to no retails,” the corporate mentioned.
