TVS has introduced its first Electric Scooter named iQube, to compete with the recently launched Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter. Currently, the company has installed the production capacity of 1000 electric scooters per month as they are expecting its sale to reach about 100 units per day.
So, without any delay, let’s move ahead and check out the detailed review of TVS iQube Electric Scooter.
TVS iQube Electric Scooter Design:
The TVS iQube Scooter comes with an elegant design supplemented with a cutting edge technology that delivers comfort and convenience simultaneously. The entire design seems futuristic and appealing, as well.
At its front, it has a single strip of lights that are divided into focus light and two indicators. Above the lights is a small branding of the model ‘iQ.’ The exciting part is the presence of two focus lights where one is installed in its front panel, and the U-trim LED DRL is installed at the handlebar. Which this, the front looks entirely decent. The indicators also work with the hazard-lights options that are provided within this scooter.
From its sides, it looks almost similar to conventional scooters available in the market. However, at its side, it has the iQube badging. Moreover, the electric motor also has an illuminating badging that looks interesting and cool as well.
Coming to its back, it has the same Robocop line for lighting cluster that includes the rear light and two indicators. This electric scooter is entirely given LED lighting to deliver good lighting with low power consumption. A similar branding is provided above the rear-lights.
The front suspension has the telescopic units with the disc brake that makes it a big similar to TVS Jupiter. At its back, you get two shock absorbers.
Coming on the console, the buttons look excellent quality. Almost the same buttons are offered as given in TVS Jupiter. The entire console is digital with a TFT screen, providing connectivity with your smartphone. It’s given a really high-resolution screen. Once your phone is connected, your entire information can be seen on this display, including calls, messages, battery, and more.
It has a conventional-looking seat, which looks pretty well finished. Moving to its boot, it comes with a handy set of features that most of you expect from a scooter. It comes with a USB charging slot and can easily hold a half-facing helmet.
Its rear-view mirror is given a different design i.e., a rectangular shape that brings a different appeal to this electric scooter. However, it could have been better with the traditional round mirrors as provided in TVS Jupiter.
TVS iQube Electric Scooter Engine & Performance:
The TVS iQube Scooter is powered by 4.4hW hub motor, which can churn out 140Nn of torque. TVS Company claims iQube can shift from 0-40 kmph in 4.2 seconds. Move ahead; its maximum speed is 78 kmph in Sport mode and 40 kmph in Eco mode.
TVS iQube Electric Scooter Battery & Charging:
TVS iQube comes with 2.25kWh lithium-ion battery installed in three packs. One of the three-pack batteries is located under the floorboard, whereas the other two packs are placed below the seat. This gives a turnaround distance of nearly 75 km in one full charging. For a commuter riding, 30km per day can go for two days in a single charging. The key port is given at a conventional location, whereas the charging slot is given at the opposite side of the scooter.
The battery is further protected with aluminum extrusion casing that makes it water and dust resistant. It also comes with 3 year/50,000 km warranty.
For charging 5A home charger is provided (FREE). The TVS iQube Electric Scooter takes about 5 hours for complete charging. However, TVS hasn’t provided fast charging in this scooter.
The dedicated home charging unit comes with a simple plug and charge concept. You can seamlessly check the charging status via the TVS Mobile app.
One exciting feature that I like is the regenerating braking system that maximizes the charging while riding.
Currently, TVS has set up charging spots in Bengaluru, where it is presently being sold. 10 more Charging points will be installed in the city later. The TVS Mobile app has an entire list of charging points.
