Honda CB300R Review: Price, Feature, Launch Date & Specification

Honda has just unveiled the Honda CB300R, a new-rider-friendly smaller sibling to the CB1000R.

It closely mimics the retro-inspired styling of the new super-naked but is scaled down to 286cc to make a bike suitable for A2 license holders.

Honda CB300R is an impressively designed motorcycle that shares its engine with popular CBR300R. It is on sale in limited markets and India is highly awaiting this model for its liter class inspired design language and powerful motor. If Honda plans to launch CB300R in India, the next update will automatically be CBR300R due to intensive part sharing between both of them.

Honda CB300R comes with a round front headlight with LED high and low beam support and daytime running lights. The design remains almost identical to Honda CB1000R as one can spot similar fuel tank seating and component placement.

Honda CB300R Design:-

Talking about the design of the Honda CB 300R it is really stunning. Honda CB 300R is consists of a new tubular steel frame, steel-plate swing-arm, 41mm upside-down fork, pre-load adjustable mono shock and four-piston brake caliper biting a 296mm floating front disc.

At the rear is a single-piston caliper on a 220mm disc and the model comes with ABS standard.

It’s also got an inertial measurement unit, more commonly the preserve of much higher-specific machines, to give precise front to rear distribution of ABS operation depending on the vehicle behavior.

The inverted front suspension gives it great strength and cornering stability. It is equipped with a round headlight which gives it a classic look. Below the engine, there is a chin spoiler that gives a sporty look to the bike.

The type of engine with which Honda CB300R equipped is Liquid –cooled single cylinder which prevents the bike from heating instantly. The displacement of the Engine in cm cube is 286cc which is compactable.

The Bore and Stroke of the bike in mm are 76mm x 63mm. The compression ratio is 10:7:1 and maximum power output is 31bhp/8500rpm. The maximum torque is 27.5Nm/7,500rpm. The oil capacity of the bike is not good enough it is only 1.8L/1.5L.

While the CB300R would make for a fantastic street bike in the current Indian market, there are already many players in this space – the KTM 390 and 250 Duke, Benelli TNT 25, and the Kawasaki Z250, are its competitors. Honda would be unable to meet a reasonable price target with the CB300R, so it is highly unlikely it will make it to the Indian market soon.
